Riddling Riddles

Alright so everyone has heard "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?" right? well if you haven't then you have now! So I am going to go deeper into that on the good ole INTERNET! Alright here we go...

Alright we have some info from sources on Wikipedia, they say that the common sense answer would be, yes (which is what I think), it would still make a noise even if there was no one around to hear the tree fall,

Now I am going to ask a riddle and you can all post your answers and we will see who is right. Alright here is the riddle:


Oh this is a good one!

So a man lives on a 6 story apartment building and he lives on the top floor, on sunny days when he goes to work, he takes the elevator to the bottom floor and when He comes home after work, he takes the elevator to the 3rd floor and then walk the rest of the way up. but on rainy days, on the way to work, the man takes the elevator to the bottom floor and then, when he comes home that night, he takes the elevator to the 6th floor. Why is the pattern different on sunny days and rainy days?
